Jeff Samardzija had another strong start thwarted by a lack of run support as the Dodgers took a third straight from the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Samardzija struck out nine in six innings but didn't help his own cause by walking five. So yeah, work on your location, Shark. Everyone is talking about this near-miss of a foul ball by Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig.
Style points through the roof there.
The South siders are playing so poorly right now they stand a chance of losing 100 games for the first time since 1970. They maintained that pace at Comerica Park Saturday with their season-high ninth straight loss. John Danks was up for the challenge of being matched against Tigers ace Nate Scherzer but he couldn't keep the ball in the park. The Tigers got solo home runs from Torii Hunter, Jhonny Peralta and Jose Iglesias while the Sox lineup stranded 15 runners on base and were 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
