Video: Watch The Postal Service Perform Their Last Song Ever

Last night's sold-out show at The Metro was also to be The Postal Service's last. And that feels right. The band was such a huge part of a certain moment in time, and what started out as a back-and-forth collaboration by Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello via mail grew into the sound of a generation. Last night's set included those two principals along with Jenny Lewis and Laura Burhenn and included lots of smiles, strangely endearing dancing from Gibbard, instrument swapping—including both Gibbard and Lewis taking turns at the drums—and "Such Great Heights" was played not once, but two times. Here it is, with permission from the band, as the final song of the encore. Forgive the shaky frame at times; I was holding the camera against my chest so it wouldn't block anyone's view or break our concert etiquette rules. Feel free to clap and sing along.
