Here's a reason for fans of David Bowie to live healthy through at least next September. The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago has been selected as the U.S. venue for the "David Bowie is..." exhibit that's been shown to rave reviews at London's Victoria and Albert Museum. The exhibit ends its run Sunday and begins a world tour shortly after.
The V&A Museum was given unprecedented access to the Bowie archives and curated over 300 objects, including handwritten lyrics, original costumes, photography, set designs, album artwork, and rare performance material from Bowie's half-century in music. It's the first-ever detailed look into Bowie's constant musical reinventions and his influence on art, fashion and design, theater and contemporary culture and looks at his creative process and collaborations with designers, musicians, artists, photographers and filmmakers.
"David Bowie is..." will run from September 2014 through January 2015.
