2013_8_13_PTI.jpg Cole's Bar in Logan Square hosts "Chi Lit: Tales of the Neighborhoods" 8 p.m. tonight. Hosted by Rachel Hyman of Anthology of Chicago and Paul Dailing of 1,001 Chicago Afternoons, the event brings together writers and storytellers to tell stories of the neighborhoods they call home. Some of the writers include Bill Savage (writing on Rogers Park), NPR "Snap Judgment" contributor Shannon Cason (Bronzeville), Hack: Tales from a Chicago Cab author Dmitry Samarov (Beverly), Robert Loerzel, Lane Tech English teacher Molly Meacham (Roscoe Village) and researcher/former Windy City Roller Melanie LaForce (Logan Square). Admission to this 21+ event is free and a portion of the bar proceeds and a raffle will benefit Open Books.

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Anthony (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
