Nones is one of those bands you’ll kick yourself for not seeing some day. The local psych-punk rockers bring an incredible energy to the stage, perfectly suited to their raw and spastic sound. At any given time, frontman Brandon Bayles might just rip his shirt off, flail around on the floor, or dive into the crowd, and it gives you this hard-to-resist urge to do the same.

Not surprisingly, a small venue is the best place to experience this high-energy performance. So it’s fortunate that Nones’ next show - tonight at 6 p.m. - is set in the intimate setting of Permanent Records. Check out some of their material over at the band’s Soundcloud page and you’ll understand exactly why we dote on them so. Also playing today’s show is Baltimore noise rock trio Multicult.

Nones plays tonight, Thursday, at Permanent Records, 1914 W Chicago, 6 p.m., free, all ages
