PHOTOS: Lil Bub Hangs Backstage At The Metro

Dave Grohl. Billy Corgan. Ben Gibbard. The Metro is known for pulling in the rock stars but Thursday night the Wrigleyville venue broadened its horizons even further by playing host to a different kind of star.

Famed cat Lil Bub was in town to promote her new movie Lil Bub and Friendz -- a Vice-produced documentary about the toothless, extra-toed, stubby feline that has spent the last year stealing the hearts of Internet users everywhere.

Her visit to Chicago included a trip to the Field Museum and a packed meet and and greet at the Lakeview Urban Outfitters (see below), but Bub and her owner Mike Bridavsky's final stop was the Metro where they were on hand to introduce the film and wave a paw to the crowd. While she's every bit as cute and bright-eyed in person, Bub looked a little tired from her long day. As soon as Bridavsky set her down she attempted to scoot off the stage towards what we assume was a very comfy cat bed waiting behind the curtain for her.

Proceeds from the screening went to Tree House Humane Society which, like all no-kill shelters, is a pretty cool cause.

Before the big show Chicagoist had a chance to chill with this admittedly adorable cat backstage. Despite the fact that Lil Bub and Friendz focuses partially on Bub's health problems and her battle with the rare bone disease osteopetrosis, she was as spry as ever last night -- hamming it up for the camera and exploring the many foyers of the Metro's dressing room area. Bridavsky has noted in interviews that traveling seems to ease Bub's chronic pain and we were lucky enough to see her most curious, mobile side last night.
