Glazed and Infused is one of our go-to indulgences of choice, but not everyone can enjoy their fried sugary gems. Those on gluten-free or low-gluten diets would have a particularly hard time with these flour bombs and none of the major boutique doughnut operations in town had anything to accommodate their needs. Until this week.

We got word from Glazed and Infused that they plan to debut their first gluten-free gluten-less doughnut later this week.

"We tested a lot of different gluten free flour mixes and didn't find anything we liked until we found Mama's Gluten Free," said General Manager James Gray. "It's simple, but all the ratios are just perfect to give a soft cakey doughnut. After we add our spices the perfect Gluten Free doughnut is born."

To those who are truly gluten-intolerant, Glazed and Infused has a word of warning - they don't change out their fryer oil or use special equipment to make this doughnut, so it's possible there might be some flour still somewhere in the system. But for most people who are gluten-intolerant, this is a great option.

Keep an eye on Glazed and Infused's Facebook page for the official launch, though it's likely going to happen on Thursday or Friday. The doughnuts will appear at every G&I location, though they will be stocked in limited quantities.
