Video: Skydivers Survive Mid-Air Plane Crash In Wisconsin

By Chuck Sudo in News on Nov 5, 2013 3:10PM

A group of skydivers and two pilots managed to survive a mid-air collision of two airplanes in Wisconsin last weekend in a scene that could have been scripted in a Hollywood action blockbuster. The incident occurred in Superior, Wisc., where the skydivers were preparing for a connected jump when one of the planes crashed into the other.

The collision ripped a wing off one of the planes and scattered the skydivers across the sky. Luckily they all wore their parachutes and were able to land safely on the ground. The pilot of the destroyed plane managed to escape and also parachuted safely. The pilot of the second plane was able to pull out of a dive and land his plane.

Mike Robinson, one of the skydivers, said it was the last jump of the day at Skydive Superior and “it was just a perfect time to be up in the sky.”

“This was my fourth jump of the day - I have over 900 skydives,” Robinson added. "I'll remember this one more than most.”
