Listen To What Paul McCartney's DJ Plays Before Macca Concerts

Chris Holmes, is probably most famous for his work in Yum Yum and Ashtar Command, but considering his wide range of projects it's quite possible you've encountered him and didn't even know it. He began his career in Chicago but left for sunny L.A. and along the way landed one of the best jobs in the world. A few years ago we were in the crowd when Paul McCartney played Wrigley Field and we were impressed with the range of Beatles tunes—covers, originals and remixes—the guy onstage spun before the show. It wasn't until the next day that we realized it was Holmes! He first spun before McCartney at Coachella in 2009 and that led to the position becoming a permanent gig.

Recently he released a version of his opening set online. Stream it or download below (and if you want a hi-res version you can snag it here).

If you're ever in L.A. it's totally worth tracking Holmes down at one of his DJ or music events. He usually has plenty of famous friends stopping by on the ones and twos, including budding musical talent like ?uestlove and Thom Yorke.
