The Music Box Theatre wants to make your New Year’s Eve spectacular spectacular with a Moulin Rouge-themed evening of entertainment. Ring in 2014 with burlesque, champagne, and Baz Luhrmann!

The party starts this Tues., Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. Dress in your Pigalle finest to enjoy snacks by Deleece and a cash bar before heating things up with a burlesque and variety show. Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film will then follow at 9:30 p.m., and the screening will come with a complete audience interaction guide. Celebrate with a champagne toast at midnight as the party continues with dancing and late night snacks.

The event’s admission includes the film, food, a stage show, dessert, party favors, and a commemorative pint glass. Whether your New Year’s resolution is resisting courtesan romance in all the wrong places, or if you just need an excuse to try out your “Voulez vous coucher avec moi?” pronunciation, do it because you can can can.

Admission is $50/person or $95/couple in advance at the Music Box Theatre box office, 3733 N. Southport Ave., or online; $55/person or $105/couple at the door.
