Kuma's Corner Holds Record Release Party For Chicago Doom Metal Band Indian

By Jon Graef in Food on Jan 11, 2014 9:30PM

Avondale metal-themed burger joint Kuma's Corner is holding a record release party for Chicago doom metal band Indian on January 19 at 9:00 p.m. Patrons will not only be able to hear Indian's forthcoming album, From All Purity, two days before its release date, they'll also be able to try Kuma's burger of the month. Not coincidentally is it named after the band. The burger consists of Bourbon-braised spinach; corn and sundried tomato gravy; deep fried Johnny Cake fritter; and fresh chive.

Kuma's also promised giveaways. Indian's From All Purity is the band's second effort for Relapse Records (fifth overall) and follows 2011's Guiltless, which we called a "musical journey into the mouth of teeth-rattling metal madness."

Purity is a slower, gnarlier, and noisier effort than its impressive predecessor that pummels, instead of pounces on, its listeners. The album equals, if not fully surpasses, Guiltless. Listen to a track called "Directional," which was premiered by metal blog Invisible Oranges and is From All Purity's second track.
