Well, this is one creative way to get rid of the ugly melting snow and ice. An 80-year-old suburban man in St. Charles Township received a stern talking to from local police after a neighbor called in a complaint against him. For what you ask? Shooting icicles off his his second-floor roof with a .22 revolver. The Sun-Times reports that police told the man not to shoot any more icicles but that they did not cite or charge him with any crime.

While we understand the frustration of snow removal in and around Chicago, especially for those that are older or physically unable to do the labor intensive work, we do not suggest the usage of firearms against mother nature. Although we have always enjoyed the patriotic gun-toting taunting from one of our favorite storm memes. We’d venture a guess that snow and ice removal wasn’t the top priority in this situation but rather entertainment and amusement. It might anger him, but we suggest taking away grandpa’s guns once the cops are dispatched and finding him a new hobby.
