It's that time of the year, when Cubs fans descend on the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers to rub elbows with former Cubs, attend seminars on everything in the Cubs' universe and meet the latest additions to the team (human and otherwise).

This year's Cubs Convention will center on celebrating the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field. Interesting since little to no progress has been made on the much-discussed renovations to the old ball yard. There will be a film to take you inside the history of Wrigley, much of which can be seen crumbling at every home game.

New Cubs manager Rick Renteria will also be meeting fans for the first time, along with his full staff of coaches. Surely he'll be peppered with questions about minor league players currently not on his roster and if Junior Lake looks like a young Barry Bonds. Theo Epstein and company will also be on hand.

On the docket is the celebration of the 1984 team, featuring Bobby Dernier, Jay Johnstone, Gary Matthews, Lee Smith and Rick Sutcliffe. Also in attendance will be everyone's favorite offseason acquisition: Clark the Cub.
