The snow and cold might be keeping most of us off our bikes for the season, but it isn’t too early to start planning for sunny days on two wheels again. Bike the Drive, a favorite event each year for cyclist of all ages and abilities, returns this year on May 25. Registration has opened for this year's event and if you sign up before Feb. 2 you get a discounted entry price of $39 per adult. And if you stop in a MB Financial Bank location (the sponsor of the event) you can receive a promo code for an additional $2 off and a free CamelBak water bottle.

While signing up for the event, you can also choose to add on additional packages. You can join or renew your membership to the Active Transportation Alliance (members also receive an additional discount price for Bike the Drive). You can also sign up for the Bike to Brew event in July, a ride that ends at Revolution Brewery’s facility on Kedzie Ave for a night of music, good beer and food trucks to enjoy.

We salute the brave souls biking through winter but we prefer to dream of sunny days ahead while hiding under a blanket. Head over to the Bike the Drive site now to sign up and give yourself something warm to look forward to during the rest of this frigid winter.
