2014_1_31_LeslieandtheLYs.jpg Bedazzle your sweater and slide into your sparkliest spandex pants—Leslie and the LY’s are returning to Chicago.

If you’re not familiar with leading lady Leslie Hall, then what the hell have you been doing with yourself? The Iowa-based rapper is an Internet sensation of sorts (or at least her quirky collection of gem sweaters is). As of late, she’s been on the road as part of Yo Gabba Gabba Live, but she’s taking a break to tour the states in support of her newest album, Songs in the Key of Gold, and she’ll be coming to the Empty Bottle Friday, Feb. 7.

For the show, she’ll be performing tracks from her latest album, which features glammed-up remixes of some of her best hits, such as “Hydrate Jirate,” “Gem Sweater,” and “Power Cuddle.” But the music isn’t the sole reason we go to the live performances—the satirical hip hop tunes are coupled with a fantastically silly display of gold-lame bodysuits, flashing light shows and, of course, Leslie gyrating erotically on stage. Also performing the Bottle will be delightful prairie-folksters Dean and the Delilahs and the funnyladies from Boone County Comedy Troupe. For now, check out this video for Leslie and the Ly’s “No Pants Policy”:

Leslie and the LY's perform Friday, Feb. 7, at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western , 9 p.m., $10 in advance or $12 at the door, 21+
