We were sad to hear the news in December that La Boulangerie’s Logan Square location was closing after serving the area for three years. Good news came today for residents who enjoyed picking up a baguette on the way home from work. Although they have a store on Belmont and a food truck, La Boulangerie loved the Logan Square neighborhood and their customers so much, they want to return and find a new location. Opening a new spot is expensive, so they have started a Kickstarter to ask for help from customers while also offering some treats in return. Here are some of the gifts you receive based on your donation amount:

  • Pledge $50 or more, receive one free traditional baguette per week for two years in their new location starting day one of it opening.
  • Pledge $100 or more, receive one free traditional baguette per day for two years in their new location starting day one of it opening.
  • Pledge $500 or more, receive one free traditional baguette per day for two years in their new location starting day one of it opening plus a two hour private crepe party for 50 people.
  • Pledge $1,000 or more, receive one free traditional baguette per day for two years in their new location starting day one of it opening plus a four hour private cooking class for 16 people.

Since the options are worth a face value of $350 up to $4,000, if you are a French bread fan in the Logan Square hood, this sounds like a solid investment. They are hoping to find a new location and sign a lease this summer, hopefully in time for picnic season. Head over to their Kickstarter if you want a new bread hookup for a worthy cause.
