Update, 6p.m.: The event tonight has been canceled. Although if you end up at Frontier still, we suggest some Pacific Coast oysters to ease your sorrows.

Ever wanted to chat with the fine folks that make your favorite local gift you purchase at one of the many handmade shows throughout the year? Or need tips on starting your own crafty empire? Then head over to Frontier tonight where the Chicago Craft Mafia will be hosting a meet 'n' greet.

The Chicago Craft Mafia is a non-competitive group of independent crafting business owners who work together to "both foster our own individual entrepreneurship and support the greater crafting community." Their group is a wealth of knowledge for those needing guidance in all things artistic entrepreneurship, and they share this information through free business-oriented workshops, website posts and promotion of local events and businesses.

They promise to put their "tools, glue, sewing machine and other supplies aside" tonight to meet with others in person and not just from behind their booth at a show. So if you are a fellow crafter or just appreciate crafty folk, stop in and say hello and talk some shop at Frontier (1072 N. Milwaukee) tonight from 6-8 p.m.
