Music Video Of The Day: House Of Normandie 'World's Strongest Maniacs'

By Lisa White in Arts & Entertainment on Mar 17, 2014 10:30PM

Local trio House of Normandie sent over some music and their latest video for us to check out, and it might have us pining for some summer outdoor fun. The short but sweet fuzzed out rock soundtracks a pretty typical lazy summer afternoon, playing some frisbee, hanging with friends and wearing jean shorts (of course). All you need is a few six packs of some cheap beer and you'd have a pretty nice way to waste the day away come July. And the perfect soundtrack for this type of undertaking? Some local garage rock that sounds like the offspring of early 90s college radio, channeling bits of Dinosaur Jr and Sebadoh. We can't wait until we can crack a beer open and porch drink once again in the sun.

Check out House of Normandie below and if you dig what you hear, catch them at The Burlington March 31.

Since you apparently can't watch music videos on television anymore, we'll showcase one here daily. There's no rhyme or reason, time or season, to which video we'll choose. Have a suggestion? Contact us at tips@chicagoist.com.
