If you’ve ever found yourself in need of black truffles, cave-aged Pu-Erh tea or seaweed caviar then get ready to give your kitchen the Michelin-starred treatment. Chicago’s own exotic emporium Rare Tea Cellar retails their inventory to the average consumer. For the past 18 years, Owner Rodrick Markus has equipped some of the city’s best restaurants with hard-to-find gourmet ingredients. He's supplied acclaimed restaurants like El Ideas, Schwa, L2O and even delivered the white truffles for Do Rite Donuts' $20 truffle donut. The shop was also featured on Bizarre Eats, where Andrew Zimmerman toured the warehouse and sampled the gallery of teas, truffles and brewing equipment. Rare Tea Cellar has been selling to consumers through their online store for the past 10 years, but most of Chicago doesn't know that they're a mouse-click away from fresh caviar. Take a look at our slideshow for our favorite treasures that Rare Tea Cellar has to offer.
