19 people were shot, and two were killed, in Chicago shootings from Saturday to Sunday. The two fatalities occurred early Sunday morning. The first fatal shooting happened in Chicago's River North neighborhood, where a gang-related drive-by shooting killed one man and wounded three others, at 3:10 a.m..

The second fatal shooting occurred in the Chatham neighborhood just a little more than four hours later.

The Chicago Tribune has more details about the shootings that occurred across the city, while DNAInfo has more information about the early morning Chatham shooting.

So far, this weekend, 22 people have been wounded, and three people killed, from shootings, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Sun-Times also recently noted the following: "Chicago had nine more murders and 101 more shooting victims in April 2014 than it did in April 2013 — raising the city’s murder total to 95 through the first four months of the year...".

Let's hope for a downward trend in May.
