A curious message on "encased meat emporium" Hot Doug's website this morning has tongues wagging across social media. Peep, peeps.

And it isn't a joke. DNAInfo Chicago received confirmation from owner Doug Sohn that he would indeed be shutting down the uber-popular hot dog joint. Sohn would only say "it's time to do something else."

Chicagoist has emails and phone calls requesting comment from Sohn and we will update as more information becomes available. Until then, you have a few months to get your fix of sausages, hot dogs and fries.
