Anyone else find it amusing Jane's Addiction is playing the 10th anniversary of Riot Fest and not another fest celebrating it's 10th year with Chicago as its home base? Photo by Jim Kopeny / Tankboy

The 10th anniversary Chicago edition of Riot Fest is having a pretty good week. First they announced a line-up that proved major festivals don't have to book the exact same bands every other major festival is booking that season.

Then, Riot Fest founder Michael Petryshyn talked with us about how the fest got to where it is today and their philosophy. And now they've announced that ten of the bands playing the fest will be performing ten of their "classic" albums. That sound you hear? It's music nerds across America (and probably overseas) squealing with delight.

The nine bands bands announced so far and the albums they will be performing are:

Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album)
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking
Samhain - Initium
Offspring - Smash
NOFX - Punk in Drublic
Descendents - Milo Goes to College
Naked Raygun - Throb Throb
Get Up Kids - Something to Write Home About

For a a taste of what to expect, here's Jane's Addiction performing Nothing's Shocking in Las Vegas earlier this month.

Riot Fest is Sept. 12-14 in Humboldt Park. Tickets are still available.
