What is it with Orland Park and stiffing cab drivers? Some three months after a couple reportedly had sex in an cab driver's vehicle in Orland Park, then said they couldn't pay the fare, comes another story of someone in Orland Park trying to stiff a cab driver. (And not in the fun way.)
NBC Chicago reports that 24-year-old Brian Zabrodski (of course dude's name has "bro" in it) was arrested Thursday after allegedly running off after a cabbie asked him to pay $80 fare in Orland Park. When Zabrodski ran, the cabbie gave chase, only to break his ankle in the subsequent struggle.
After Zabrodski got away, police released surveillance footage, and Zabrodski was subsequently tracked down. He was arrested in his Homer Glen home Thursday, and reportedly appeared in bond court Saturday. Zabrodski was released on recognizance, and will be electronically monitored.
The Tribune reports Zabrodski faces charges of felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor theft of services, respectively.
