One of the best parts about having a favorite band that originates in your hometown is that, if they decide to do something cool, you can almost always safely bet your city will be a part of it.
Despite the fact that only one member of Alkaline Trio still spends a significant amount of time in Chicago, this city will always be the place where the band got its start back in the late '90s and we're glad they haven't forgotten it.
We were especially glad the band didn't shrug off its birthplace yesterday when the members announced they'd be stopping in three cities for four nights a piece to play all eight of their albums front to back. The cities include Los Angeles, New York and, of course, sour home Chicago.

Chicago's dates fall Oct. 16-19 and all four shows will be at the Metro.
The downside? The band will be playing two albums per night but not in chronological order. The pairings will not be announced in advanced so whether ticket holders will hear rarely played classics like "My Little Needle" or newer, less favorably received singles like "Burn," is a roll of the dice.
Pre-sale tickets are on sale now. Regular on sale start tomorrow at noon.
