CTA Surveillance cameras captured the two men traveling along the Orange Line most of the afternoon before they decided to target a train traveling between the Halsted Street and Roosevelt Road stations around 4:15 p.m. They specifically targeted a car full of passengers unfamiliar with CTA, according to authorities.

The two robbed four people of smartphones and other electronic devices, bank cards and $400 in cash, which were placed in the backpack carried by the younger of the two suspects. They also pistol whipped a woman in her mid-40s who refused to give them her purse.
Police are still seeking the suspects and anyone with knowledge of their whereabouts are encouraged to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380. Police presence on Orange Line trains has increased after the robbery. The Guardian Angels are also riding the line, which serves Midway Airport.
