'90s children rejoice! As we mentioned yesterday, Trent Reznor is on his way to town. While we weep to think some kids today may only know of him from the soundtrack of The Social Network (though his work in that was absolutely amazing) we’re from the era of Nine Inch Nails. Pretty Hate Machine and The Fragile were intimate friends with our Discman, and we couldn’t forget the images burned in our brains with 1994’s "Closer" video.

We continue to be fans of the band itself and the way they interact with their fans, both in shows and with things like the online release of Ghosts I-IV which was “on Trent.” NIN never lost its edge and continues to build on a sound that’s distinctly theirs, and we couldn’t be more excited to see them in Tinley Park tomorrow when they play the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater. As we mentioned yesterday, this one’s worth a trundle to the suburbs.

This isn’t only on account of Nine Inch Nails though, since Soundgarden is also performing. It was at the same time we couldn’t keep our eye off Reznor’s revolutions that we were also learning the lyrics to "Spoonman" and "Black Hole Sun." The aggressive grunge sound from Seattle is something we love to this day, and Chris Cornell’s vocals soar. This is a good combination for an outdoor venue like FMBA, and we’re excited to see what this tour will bring. Tickets are still available and can be purchased here! Gear up for a trek down south and for some of us, down a musical memory lane.
