The Promontory (5311 South Lake Park Ave West), a long-awaited concert venue and restaurant in Hyde Park finally opened last week. The brainchild of Bruce Finkelman and Craig Golden, best known for Longman & Eagle and The Empty Bottle as well as Dusek’s and Thalia Hall, their other dual concept in Pilsen.

Eater has pictures of the building’s innovative architecture with ample open-air spaces. Chef Jared Wentworth developed a menu built around historically-influenced dishes cooked in the hearth that graces the center of the restaurant’s main room such quail cooked on a string and poached sole . The cocktail menu, created by GM Will Duncan and Justin Anderson (formerly of La Sirena Clandestina), is divided into shaken, stirred, and carbonated drinks such as Thursdays On 53rd made with Letherbee gin, market berry meritage, lemon, and aromatic bitters.

The concert venue opens in mid-August and they have just released a list of the first concerts.
