Pencil This In: A Perfect Friday Night at Uncommon Ground

By Jaclyn Bauer in Arts & Entertainment on Aug 1, 2014 5:30PM

2014_08_Perfect_Friday_Night.jpg Grab a taste of some local literature, music and green eating during A Perfect Friday Night at Uncommon Ground on Clark tonight, Aug. 1 from 8 p.m. until midnight.

Musicians include Mitch Mead and Budway Ferris, while readings will be conducted by poet Jennifer Finstrom and recently published author Jack Murphy. Murphy’s debut work My Apartment in Chicago, is an eclectic and seemingly amorphous collection of stories, poems and lists that in the end form a cohesive and comprehensive analysis of the rawness of humanity.

Uncommon Ground is renowned for their sustainable practices, rooftop garden and locally sourced food, not to mention their delicious menu of fare and cocktails. Signature appetizers include sweet potato fries with goat cheese dip and Korean chili spiced calamari. Uncommon seasonal drink options are comprised of ginger infused vodka and apple bourbon among other choices.

Last month’s event sold out, so reserve your seat early, and don’t forget to bring cash for the $5 cover charge.

Uncommon Ground on Clark is located at 3800 N Clark St, Chicago, IL, 60614. Call to reserve your seat today, 773-929-3680.
