Provenance Food & Wine's Logan Square Store To Close

By Chuck Sudo in Food on Aug 7, 2014 9:30PM

Popular gourmet food shop Provenance Food & Wine announced they would be closing their Logan Square shop Sept. 27. An announcement on Provenance Food & wine’s Facebook page explains why.

The building has been sold and the new owner is not renewing our lease, giving us 60 days to vacate. We have debated at length the possibility of relocating in Logan Square, but with such short notice and no opportunity to remain open for the holiday season this is a financial undertaking that is just not an option. Therefore we've decided to focus only on our second location in Lincoln Square.

Provenance has proven popular with Logan Square residents for over eight years with a kind, personal approach to customer service and a shockingly wide array of carrying everything from breads and seasonal fruits to wines, artisanal cheeses, ice creams, frozen fish, meats, oils and vinegars and, of course, wine. It’s proven to be one of our favorite wine shops, and made our list of favorite cheese shops last year.

Provenance gift cards will still be accepted at the Lincoln Square location.
