The Sox were stung by the Rays, and the Cubs narrowly beat the Dodgers. Here's your morning box score:

Sox 1, Rays 3

The Tampa Bay Rays avenged yesterday's loss to the Sox. Rays Pitcher Chris Archer only gave up two hits to the Sox, which allowed Tampa to score off of Nick Franklin's first major league home run. The Sox managed a run, thanks to a pinch-hit single in the ninth. But the famous bats of the Sox hitters just weren't there. The Sox play the final game of their series against Tampa tonight.

Cubs 8, Dodgers 7

The Cubs snapped a two game losing streak by narrowly beating the Dodgers Saturday. Chris Coghlan hit two home runs, the second of which proved the key run that gave the Cubs the lead. Coghlan wasn't the only Cub to clean up. Arismendy Alcantara also hit a three-run slam, a hit that helped the Cubs stage a dramatic comeback. [The Cubs were down by five at one point.] Game 4 takes place today.
