Detroit 4, White Sox 3
It was practically Dickensian for the White Sox at Comerica Park Tuesday night. Scott Carroll allowed only two runs (one earned) in six innings but receive much run support. The Sox managed to get untracked and tied the game in the ninth inning with RBIs from Avisail Garcia and Marcus Semien, but Jake Petricka handed the Tigers the victory when Miguel Cabrera's single scored Ian Kinsler.

Cubs 4, St. Louis 3
Cubs fans are going to get good looks at rookie pitchers in the final week of the regular season. The club announced Tuesday they'll be starting rookies through their remaining slate of games and sent Edwin Jackson to the bullpen, where hopefully Jackson can hold any leads the Cubs have. The Cubs have already seen what Kyle Hendricks can do. Hendricks struggled a bit against the Cards at Wrigley Field, allowing three runs in five innings. Wellington Castillo won it for the Cubs in the 10th inning with a solo home run from Wellington Castillo.
