Extra Extra: Firefighters Battle Three-Alarm Blaze On West Side

  • Firefighters were busy battling a three-alarm blaze near the Eisenhower Expressway this afternoon. The fire damaged two businesses and one residential building. The inbound ramp from the Eisenhower Expressway to Independence Boulevard is still closed due to the fire. [Sun-Times]
  • The Goose Island Clark Street brewpub will be shutting its doors after not being able to resolve lease issues between company founder John Hall and the owners of the building, Midway Holdings. Their last day open will be Monday. [RedEye Chicago]
