Chris Sale was masterful once again. And the White Sox bullpen blew a game for the White Sox once again. Chris Sale pitched six innings, allowing just four hits and one run while striking out 10, surpassing 200 K's for the season. He departed with the game tied 1-1. The Sox bullpen allowed the Tigers to score five more time, clinching a trip to the postseason with the victory. Jake Verlander got the win for Detroit. Sale's final start of the season, he finishes the year with a 12-4 record, 2.17 ERA, and 208 strikeouts in 26 starts.

Cubs 3, Cardinals 1
The Cubs beat their heated rivals behind a strong outing from Jake Arrieta, who improved his record to 10-5. Arrieta out dueled John Lacky, allowing just two hits and an unearned run over seven innings while striking out 10. The Cubs starter helped himself out with the bat as well, hitting a two-run triple in the fourth inning to drive home two of the team's three runs. Thursday's game was the final one in Wrigley Field as we currently know it, as the team finishes the season on the road while the long discussed rehab begins on the 100 year old park.
