For those of us who need caffeine coursing through or veins before we can fully function, today is very sacred holiday to observe. For today is International Coffee Day, a day not only to celebrate the dark brew that keeps so many of us going but also to explore where our coffee comes from and maybe learn a bit more about the industry itself. As far as most national or international food holidays go, sure they are mostly PR stunts, but we're all for any excuse to drink or eat the things we love. And DNAinfo Chicago is helping us maximize our celebration today with a map they've created that shows every spot in Chicago to grab a cup of joe.

The map was created by pulling listings from Yelp and combining that with the DNAinfo Chicago staff's own knowledge of local options around Chicago. So far the map lists about 1,000 places in Chicago where you can grab some coffee, but they plan on updating the map if anything changes.

Now this list does include some options that many devoted coffee fan would never sip, but desperate times can call for desperate measures. Besides the independent shops and smaller chains, the map also includes the plethora of Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, McDonald's and even 7-Eleven around town. That said, if the idea of slurping down some burnt, hours old coffee while you grab a taquito to snack on doesn't sound appealing to you, you can click off some of the larger chain options on the map. In total, the map contains 119 McDonald's, 169 Starbucks (with 40 locations in the Loop area), 192 Dunkin' Donuts and 112 7-Eleven locations. Locations at O'Hare and Midway were not mapped, but those exist as well.

You can check out the full map and enjoy clicking around and finding some new spots to check out while sipping your first (or third) cup this morning here. If you want a list tailored to the best option near public transit, our friends over at Corner of the Cafe still have one of our favorite maps.
