  • Remember last week when we told you President Barack Obama would be in town visiting this Wednesday? It looks like he'll also be stopping by at Northwestern to give a speech the next day. The topic might change but tentatively the speech will be about the economy. [Sun-Times]
  • Chicago has announced plans to end veteran homelessness by the end of 2015. Mayor Rahm Emanuel has committed $800,000 in city funds to a predominantly federally backed $5 million-a-year plan to do so. [Huffington Post Chicago]
  • A Metra train fatally struck a woman Monday morning in the Edgewater neighborhood. [RedEye Chicago]
  • A manager at The Carriage House in Wicker Park chased down a teen who stole a phone off the outdoor table of a patron at the restaurant. The boy was caught with multiple phones on him, and was also involved in a similar incident down the street at Smoke Daddy.
