Reap the whirlwind today, Chicago. We are in store for a cold, gray and stormy day of weather. The heaviest storms are behind us and we should have some scattered showers past mid-morning. But heavy winds from the west will lead a cooldown across the area that could be record setting.
If you're on your way to work, you're already feeling today's high temperature. These winds are chilling things faster than warm beer under ice. The clouds will remain with us overnight but keep an eye out for Saturday. The coldest high temp on record for Oct. 4 in Chicago is 48 degrees, set in 1871. Skilling Central is predicting we'll break that record tomorrow.
