Do This: Gapers Block Microbrewery Crawl

2014_10_6_GBcrawl.jpg We aren't the only ones throwing a party this month. Our pals at Gapers Block are hosting their second annual microbrewery crawl Saturday, Oct. 11 from 11:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Where last year's crawl visited only a few of Chicago's burgeoning craft beer scene, this year's edition has expanded to include some big guns on both sides of Madison Street.

The crawl starts at Lagunitas Brewing's amazing taproom and heads by bus to Goose Island's Fulton Street brewery and their new barrel house. From there, the tour heads to Breakroom Brewery before ending at Begyle Brewing. Throughout, there will be plenty of beer to sample at each stop while enjoying tours of each brewery. When the tour ends at Begyle, guests will also get to enjoy some fresh grilled meats by the ManBQue folks. Along the way, learn about the differences each brewery takes in its approach to making beer and how they all fit in with Chicago's beer industry.

Unlike some crawls where the goal is to get shitfaced as fast as possible, this is a "crawl" we can support. This should be both a fun day and a learning experience for anyone who participates and we're certain measures are in place to keep the problem children at bay. Tickets for the Gapers Block Microbrewery crawl are $60 and are available for purchase online.
