We know, we know; it's been five years since our last anniversary party. That is way too long. But if there's one thing we at Chicagoist want to get right, it's a celebration of our time shared with our readers. Face it, we wouldn't have lasted ten years in an increasingly difficult medium without your support and interaction. And I've been around for almost the entire lifetime of this site so I've watched us, and you, grow from upstarts to mainstays in the Chicago media landscape and beyond. So if we're going to throw a party it's going to be for you and it's going to be a blow out.

And that's just what we've arranged.

Last week Chuck gave a few sneak peeks into what we were planning for our big bash at Emporium Arcade Bar Wicker Park on Oct. 23, and now we're ready to pull back the curtain and reveal the full extent of our upcoming soiree. You already knew we have musical entertainment from Daniel Wade and DJ Matt Roan, and that we'll be conducting a charity raffle to benefit 826CHI.

We've also arranged a hosted bar consisting of several libations brought to you by our friends at PBR, Sailor Jerry rum, and Monkey Shoulder scotch. We want to make sure everyone has access to the drink of their choice so we're extremely happy to have so many partners on board to slake every thirst. Want to make sure your thirst gets slaked? RSVP ahead of time!

But what if you get hungry? We've got you covered there too! Some of our favorite food truck will be onsite to serve up tasty grub no matter what your appetite. We've arranged for The Salsa Truck, DönerMen, and Beavers Coffee + Donuts to be available outside of the Arcade. Yum!

If you're coming and want to take part in the hosted bar you will need to RSVP ahead of time. So hurry up and do that, and we'll see you on Oct. 23!

Holy mackerel are we excited about this. Whoo!
