Just a reminder that, starting Monday, Oct. 20, the Damen Blue Line stop will close for 63 days as part of the CTA's $492 million "Your New Blue" renovation project. Plan accordingly.

The Damen Blue Line stop, which was built in 1895, will be closed until Dec. 22 for improvements to the station's exterior, which includes new roofing; the station house entry, which will include more bike racks, new lighting, and additional turnstiles and wider gates; and the platform itself, amongst many other repairs.

As for how you'll get around the inevitable inconveniences will arise after the Damen Blue Line stop closes, the CTA's got you covered:

#56 Milwaukee buses are also available as alternate service to reach Western or Division stations, downtown, or other destinations along the Blue Line. Additional #56 service will be added between Damen and downtown during weekday rush periods, southbound in the morning and northbound in the evening.

Overnight bus service will be provided on the new #N56 Damen Station Owl route during the closure, to link to the closest stations in either direction of the closed Damen station.

Adjacent Blue Line stations Western and Division will remain open

The CTA announced the dates for the closures of the California and Damen Blue Line stations back in August. The California stop reopened Thursday.
