Jaime Rojo's latest EP and Santah's Stanton McConnell.

From CMT's "Crossroads" to the Foo Fighters' current "Sonic Highways," there have always been programs where musicians from different bands and disparate genres gather for a night of inspired collaboration. Our pals at Gapers Block and Begyle Brewing enter this fray with the launch of "Stars Align" 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at GMan Tavern in Wrigleyville.

Stanton McConnell of Santah and Jim Drake of Jaime Rojo will perform stripped-down interpretations of each other's songs, inspired covers and even duet on a couple songs. There's no admission price to this 21+ event and it starts at an early enough time that you can make it down to Emporium Arcade Bar Wicker Park for our 10th anniversary party. (3740 N. Clark St.)

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Melissa McEwen (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
