From multiculturalism to a child’s-eye view of marriage to a classic musical, the Chicago stage has a bit of everything this week.

The King & I
Chicago favorite Heidi Kettenring takes on the seminal role of Anna in Marriott Theatre’s production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic. The show runs through Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015.

The Cryptogram
Pulitzer-winning playwright David Mamet’s rarely produced thriller depicts a crumbling marriage from the point of view of the couple’s unknowing child. The show runs through Sunday, Nov. 16.

The Hundred Flowers Project
Silk Road Rising’s latest project, a meta play-within-a-play, involves a group of actors who stage a show about China’s cultural revolution in the era of Mao Tse Tung. The show runs through Sunday, Nov. 23.
