It's now 7:30 p.m. CST and over 50,000 people have filled the streets of downtown Chicago to watch high wire artist Nik Wallenda attempt a tightrope walk from Bertrand Goldberg's Marina City to the postmodern design Leo Burnett Building. The tightrope Wallenda will walk is 50 stories above street level and is strung at a 15 degree angle to give Wallenda a maximum degree of difficulty.

Wallenda plans to walk back from the Leo Burnett Building to Marina City, where he will walk a smaller tightrope from the residential complex's twin corncob towers blindfolded. The walk, two years in the planning, is being broadcast on Discovery Network and online.
