Poutine Fest Is Back

By Lisa White in Food on Jan 20, 2015 5:30PM

We've finally recovered after enjoying massive amounts of cheese curds and gravy at last year's Poutine Fest. Thankfully in time for us to get our fix, as festival organizers just announced their 2015 date.

The festival, in its third year, will be held at Haymarket Brewery & Pub Feb. 15. A hearty round of poutine before we head to Walgreen's to load up on discounted Valentine's Day candy sounds like the perfect plan to us. Tickets for the festival go on sale this Friday, Jan. 23, at noon. Make sure to grab them early before the festival sells out.

So far the lineup of contestants vying for the best poutine crown include host Haymarket Brewery, The Brixton (their poutine last year inspired by biscuits and gravy was a memorable one), Bite Cafe, Rocking Horse (poutine tots, perhaps?), La Sirena Clandestina and Bad Apple.

The festival is 21+ and has two waves of entry to get your poutine on; a morning session from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and an afternoon session from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

General Admission tickets are $60 each and include drink tickets and ten poutine tickets. There is a VIP ticket option for the earlier session, which gets you entry into the poutine gates 30 minutes earlier at 11 a.m., as well as an extra drink ticket. The VIP tickets cost $70 each. Ticket sales will benefit Un86'd.

You can grab tickets on the Poutine Fest website once tickets sales are live.
