With hard ciders becoming more popular than ever, Cider Week returns to Chicago from Feb. 3-8, drawing many of the nation’s top cideries and experts back to our sweet city.

Beginning Feb. 3, the industry-only CiderCON will take place at Swissotel (323 E. Upper Wacker Drive), and on Feb. 7 Navy Pier will host the annual Cider Summit Chicago gathering. Tickets for Cider Summit Chicago can be purchased here, and include a souvenir tasting glass and eight tasting tickets.

On Tuesday Feb. 3, the owners of Wandering Aengus and Anthem Cider are hosting a cider mixer at Luxbar (18 E. Bellevue Place) beginning at 7:30 p.m. The following night, Emporium Arcade Wicker Park (1366 N. Milwaukee Ave) is hosting a tasting and karaoke event starting at 8 p.m. On Feb. 5 enthusiasts can head over to Fountainhead (1970 W. Montrose Avenue) for a sampling of ciders from the U.S., U.K., Spain and France; and on Feb 6, Spring Lake, Michigan’s Vander Mill will be tapping their new “Too Gold” blend at The Publican (837 W. Fulton Market). James Asbel with Ciders of Spain will be hosting a tasting at Binny's Lincoln Park (3000 N. Clark St) on Feb. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m.

So while it’s still months before day trips to Wisconsin or Michigan become viable weekend orchard options, Cider Week brings premium cider right to our own front door.
