[UPDATE] Doggy Daycare Van With 7 Pets Inside Stolen

[UPDATE 11:40 a.m.: The van and dogs have been found. The Tribune reports that the van was located in the 2100 block of S. Wabash Ave at 11 a.m. today. Police report that a few of the dogs were seen shivering. The Sun-Times is reporting that all dogs were found inside the van and appear to be fine.They also have photos of the pets being reunited with their owners, a happy moment for all.]

A van containing seven dogs from Urban Out Sitters, a pet day care center, is still missing today after being stolen at gunpoint yesterday afternoon. It happened at 3:50 p.m. in River West when two men ordered the driver out of the car at the intersection of Milwaukee, Ogden and Chicago, police report. The driver was returning the dogs to their owners at the time of the carjacking. The driver of the vehicle was not harmed but the men jumped in the van and took off with all seven dogs still in the vehicle.

The Tribune reports that Police are still searching for the van and the dogs and there has not yet been any reports of the missing animals being spotted.

Joseph Giannini, owner of Urban Out Sitters, stated that the van is a 2002 Silver Chrysler Town and Country with the license plate number R188669. Giannini also stressed to the Tribune that there were no keys or information about the homes or owners of the dogs inside the van.

Police said one suspect was wearing a black puffy coat and the other one was wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt under a black jacket.The suspects are believed to be between 18-25 years old.
