Chuy's Song: Mayoral Candidate Gets YouTube Tribute

One of the candidates in the Chicago mayoral election now has his own theme song. Earlier this week singer Rosario Nolan posted a YouTube video of her Chuy Garcia tribute that reinterprets the 1970s Hot Chocolate hit “Brother Louie” (also famous for being the intro music to the FX show “Louie”) into a serenade for the current Cook County Commissioner.

The lyrics are an all-out endorsement for Garcia, or “the big mustache between two ears that listens,” and is paired with a music video that offers rolling footage of him about town. It’s probably one of the best advertisements he could get, considering that one listen to the song will get “Chuy, Chuy, Chuy, Chuuuu-yyy” locked in your head for the next several weeks before the April 7 vote.

No word if anyone is working on a Rahm Emanuel version just yet.
