Your 2015 Memorial Day Weather Report

By Lisa White in News on May 25, 2015 2:45PM

If you are one of the many off work observing Memorial Day and were planning on heading outside, you might want to grab an umbrella. It's going to be a grey and slightly soggy day across Chicago. We saw a bit of sunshine this morning as clouds broke and storms became more scattered, but the gloomy skies have moved back in for a bit. Another thing you'll notice if you step outdoors today is how humid and warm it feels across the area, fitting for the holiday that many see as the unofficial start of the summer.

If you are planning on firing up the grill this afternoon, best to wait until a bit later. We'll have cloudy skies early this afternoon with the greatest chance of rain during the 3 p.m. hour. Shortly after, we should have clear skies and sunshine to grace you with more optimal grilling weather.

Although it should be clear overnight, rain will stick around and offer up more showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday.
