If you've ever been to a Cubs game and had the opportunity to sit in the outfield bleachers, there's two ironclad truths to your experience. One, you'll see someone get entirely too drunk on $8 beers. Two, your food options will be limited to cold hot dogs or microwaved pizza. Well, the Cubs have heard your complaints on at least one of those issues and are working to fix it.

As part of the continuing construction project in Wrigley Field's bleacher area, the Chicago Cubs received permission from the Permit Review Committee of the Commission on Chicago Landmarks to install additional concession spaces in the outfield seating area of the stadium.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Cubs received approval from the city to install two permanent concession areas underneath the center field bleachers. The team will also install four "portable concession stands."

After the meeting, Cubs Vice President Michael Lufrano told reporters:

"This will add more permanent concession stands on the level where the seating is. It allows us to better reach those fans, and hopefully shorten lines and shorten wait times so they can get back to watching the ballgame."

Lufrano added that these concession stands will allow Wrigley to offer a wider, fresher selection of food, in part because of additional preparation space created by the expansion of the stadium. No word on what the menu might offer just yet. The team hopes to have the concession stands available by July.
