Chicago Celebrates Craft Gin Week

By Melissa McEwen in Food on Jun 22, 2015 8:00PM

At the height of London's gin craze in 1730, the city distilled around 10 million gallons of gin. Here in Chicago we're not quite at that level, but we certainly have a growing gin-making culture. Celebrate locally-made renditions of the world's most famous juniper-infused spirit with Chicago Craft Gin Week, featuring events, tours and special gin cocktails.

Chicago (and near Chicago) distilleries that make gin include FEW Spirits, New Holland, CH Distillery, Chicago Distilling and North Shore Distillery.

Events include a Gin Sampling Wednesday June 25 at Whole Foods Lincoln Park (1550 N Kingsbury) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the Logan Square Gin Crawl on Friday June 26. Get more details on events, drink specials and tours at the Week's website.
