At least 12 individuals were fatally shot Friday through Sunday during another bloody summer weekend for Chicago, and at least 35 more were wounded by gunshots, according to reports.

One of the shootings took place on a busy Wicker Park street near the site of Wicker Park Fest. In that incident, a 40-year-old man presumed to be a gang member was shot in the arm Saturday night while standing on North Milwaukee Avenue about 1 a.m., mere hours after the weekend-long Wicker Park Fest's last concert let out for the night, police told reporters. The man was in stable condition after being taken to a hospital.

Two teenagers were fatally shot over Sunday night in Little Village and Oak Lawn, the Chicago Tribune reports, including a 16-year-old boy attacked in a drive-by shooting in the 2800 block of South Keeler Avenue.

Other victim's of this weekend's gun violence include 32-year-old Joseph Campbell, who was shot to death in North Austin early Saturday morning while walking on the sidewalk on West Hubbard Street. And two men, 35-year-old Kenneth J Wallace and 32-year-old Darron Thomas, were fatally shot by a passerby on the sidewalk in East Garfield Park while driving in a sedan early Sunday morning, police told reporters. A 26-year-old woman also riding in the car with them was grazed by a bullet and brought to the hospital in stable condition.

The weekend's violence brings the city's total number of fatal shooting victims for the year to 1,519, according to a Tribune tally. Gun violence has surged over the past week as the summer heats up, with at least 36 Chicagoans killed in shootings from Monday July 20 to Monday July 27 alone.
